Where Smart Hospitality Meets the Outdoor Lifestyle
Žirovnica, SLOVENIA
trivrh
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Nestled between the Karavanke Mountains and some of Slovenia's most iconic outdoor destinations, Trivrh Outdoor Hotel was created for travellers who feel most at home in nature. Located in Žirovnica, just a short distance from Bled and the alpine trails of northwestern Slovenia, the hotel serves as a comfortable base for cycling, hiking, skiing, and a wide range of outdoor adventures. Designed around natural materials, simplicity, and functionality, Trivrh combines contemporary hospitality with the calm atmosphere of the surrounding landscape.
The hotel features 20 guest rooms, wellness facilities, dedicated bicycle storage, meeting spaces, and various services tailored to active travellers. While guests experience a welcoming and uncomplicated stay, a sophisticated digital infrastructure quietly operates in the background, supporting both comfort and efficient hotel management.
Building a Smart Hotel for Modern Guests
The vision was to create a modern hotel where technology enhances the guest experience without becoming intrusive.
To achieve this, the property was equipped with Robotina's HIQ Hospitality platform, providing an integrated solution for guest room management, access control, operational oversight, and energy optimization. The system allows hotel staff to manage rooms, guest access, and hotel operations through a unified environment while maintaining a seamless experience for visitors.
Smart Access Across the Property
At Trivrh, guests can access their rooms using QR credentials, RFID cards, or PIN codes. The access management system extends beyond guest rooms and also controls entry to selected common areas, including wellness and bicycle storage facilities.
Different access rights can be assigned to guests, housekeeping, maintenance personnel, and hotel management, ensuring both flexibility and security. Through centralized management, access credentials can be created, modified, or revoked in real time, simplifying daily hotel operations.
Intelligent Room Automation Designed Around Comfort
Every room is equipped with Robotina's Guest Room Management System (GRMS), designed to balance guest comfort with energy efficiency.
Upon arrival, guests are welcomed with predefined lighting scenes that create an inviting atmosphere. Throughout their stay, they can easily control room functions through an intuitive touch display and mobile web interface. Lighting, temperature settings, room status, and other comfort features remain readily accessible without the need to install additional applications.
The system continuously monitors room occupancy through a smart presence algorithm that combines information from door sensors, motion detection, and guest activity. This allows the room to automatically adapt its operation according to occupancy status while remaining virtually invisible to the guest.
Smarter Operations Behind the Scenes
In addition to guest-facing functionality, the platform supports efficient hotel management.
Room occupancy, guest status, Do Not Disturb requests, housekeeping requests, access events, and room conditions are all available through centralized web applications. Staff can quickly identify room status, coordinate housekeeping activities, and manage access permissions from a single interface.
The system architecture also supports integration with external hotel systems such as Property Management Systems (PMS), enabling automated synchronization of reservations, guest credentials, and room status information.
Sustainability Through Intelligent Energy Management
As hospitality businesses increasingly focus on sustainability, intelligent energy use has become an essential part of hotel operations.
At Trivrh, heating and cooling automatically adapt to room occupancy and reservation status. Rooms maintain comfortable conditions for arriving guests while unnecessary energy consumption is minimized when rooms are vacant. Additional energy-saving measures include automated control of selected electrical loads and climate regulation based on actual room usage.
This approach helps reduce operational costs while supporting the hotel's commitment to responsible and sustainable tourism.
