A Smart Renaissance in the Alps: Where Heritage Architecture Meets Intelligent Hospitality
Hotel kanin, Slovenia
Hotel kanin, Slovenia
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Originally built in 1973, Hotel Kanin stands as one of the recognizable hospitality landmarks in Slovenia’s Alpine region. As part of a comprehensive renovation, the hotel is being reimagined for a new era of hospitality excellence and is expected to reopen in 2026.
The renewed hotel will feature 98 modern guest rooms, a congress centre, and an underground parking facility. Guest well-being will be at the forefront, with a full wellness offering that includes a swimming pool, saunas, and massage facilities – creating a year-round destination that blends Alpine nature with contemporary comfort.
Smart Modernization Within Architectural Constraints
Renovating an iconic building comes with unique challenges. Hotel Kanin’s existing structure limits how technical installations can be routed and concealed. Wiring, sensors, control cabinets, and communication infrastructure must be meticulously planned to remain invisible, without compromising system performance, reliability, or future scalability.
The objective is clear: preserve the hotel’s architectural identity while transforming it into a fully integrated smart hotel, capable of meeting the expectations of modern guests and the operational demands of tomorrow.
Robotina plays a central role in this transformation. Its smart solutions will enable the automation and intelligent control of guest rooms and common areas, including Access Control, Lighting, HVAC, EV Charging, Energy Management and Building Management System (BMS).
All systems will be unified into a centralized overview, giving hotel staff real-time insight, greater operational efficiency, and simplified management across the entire property.
